Dangote Refinery exports first petrol cargo to U.S.

Nigeria’s Dangote refinery has exported its first cargo of petrol (gasoline) to the USA, marking a significant milestone for the 650,000-barrel-per-day facility.

The supply, carried on the tanker Gemini Pearl, demonstrates the refinery’s potential to supply gasoline that meets strict U.S. motor gasoline requirements.

The disclosure was contained in a Reuters report on Tuesday.

The cargo, totaling roughly 320,000 barrels, was bought by world dealer Vitol from Mocoh Oil, Dangote’s export companion, and bought to Sunoco, a North American gasoline distributor. The vessel discharged at Sunoco’s Linden, New Jersey facility, in line with vessel-tracking information and sources accustomed to the transaction.

It added, “Vitol bought the Gemini Pearl’s cargo of round 320,000 barrels of gasoline from Geneva, Switzerland-based Mocoh Oil, and bought most of it to Sunoco, in line with one supply and ship-tracking information. It was not instantly clear what quantity Vitol bought to Sunoco and the way a lot it is going to preserve.”
