The Nigerian Railway Company (NRC) has suspended prepare companies between Port Harcourt and Aba for routine upkeep, with operations scheduled to renew on September 9, 2025.
The announcement was contained in a press launch signed by the Managing Director of NRC, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, and shared on the company’s official X deal with on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Dr. Opeifa famous that the suspension was short-term, assuring passengers that common prepare companies would resume as deliberate.
“Port-Harcourt to Aba prepare companies [are] suspended for routine upkeep.
“To renew common prepare companies on the ninth of September 2025,” the assertion learn.
The NRC apologised to passengers who may be affected by the disruption, noting that it regretted all inconveniences brought about.
The upkeep comes simply months after the Port Harcourt–Aba prepare service went operational in July 2025, following the completion of rehabilitation works on the hall.
The service, which runs Tuesday to Saturday, departs Port Harcourt at 8:00 a.m. and returns from Aba at 3:00 p.m., with fares fastened at N1,500 for firstclass and N800 for traditional class.
