The police commissioner in Anambra State has ordered a thorough investigation into the sh00ting of two traders by officers at a police division in Onitsha on Wednesday.
The traders were sh0t in the legs and hands and are currently being treated at a hospital.
The commissioner visited them there and promised the police would cover their medical bills.
The investigation will focus on what led up to the officers opening fire.
It will look at all the facts and make sure appropriate action is taken based on what’s found.
The shooting happened during an attempted arrest when the traders allegedly resisted and tried to run away with cartons of goods.
The officers fired on them during the struggle.

Traders and people passing by blocked the scene in protest, causing heavy traffic congestion around the bridge area.
The commissioner visited the scene and spoke to the large crowd that gathered.
