The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), chapter Okitipupa, Ondo State, has embarked on an indefinite strike over non-implementation of the 2025 Federal Government- ASUU agreement by the state government.
Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), another Ondo state-owned institution began its indefinite strike on Tuesday, based on the same non-implementation of the 2025 FG-ASUU agreement by the state government.
Dr Oluwatoyin Ogunbamike, the OAUSTECH’s ASUU Chairman confirmed the development on Wednesday in Okitipupa.
According to him, the industrial action is total, comprehensive, and indefinite until the Ondo state government implements the 2025 FG-ASUU agreement.
“The agreement includes 40 per cent of Current Consolidated Salary Scale, Earned Academic Allowance (EAA), and Consolidated Academic Tool Allowance (CATA).
“Others are Professorial Allowance, Responsibility Allowance, Supervision Allowance as well as other non- monetary components of the agreement.
“In spite of the state being an oil producing one, the government of the day is not responsive to educational development.”
