Big Brother Naija Season 11 took a dramatic turn on Monday night as Biggie announced a major shake-up that could significantly reduce the show’s coveted N100 million grand prize, introducing a performance-based reward system that puts the entire house under pressure.
Under the new twist, the grand prize is no longer guaranteed. Instead, its value will depend on the housemates’ collective performance in weekly tasks. Every successful challenge will preserve the prize money, while each failed task will attract a N5 million deduction from the prize pot.
Biggie further revealed that all money deducted during the season would not be lost. Instead, it would be pooled and shared equally among the housemates voted by their peers as the Most Influential at the end of the competition.
To support the new reward structure, the Most Influential Player of the Week ranking has been reintroduced. Housemates will rate one another weekly on a scale of one to five, with the rankings contributing to the eventual selection of the season’s most influential contestants.
Biggie Introduces ‘Conspiracy Hour’
In another twist, Biggie unveiled Conspiracy Hour, a new strategic gameplay element designed to encourage alliances and tactical discussions.
During the exercise, housemates entered the Conspiracy Zone individually and were permitted to invite as many allies as they wished for a one-minute strategy session. While contestants could be invited into the zone multiple times by different housemates, Biggie imposed one non-negotiable rule: every discussion inside the zone must remain confidential.
Any housemate found discussing conversations held during Conspiracy Hour outside the designated area risks severe sanctions for violating house rules.
Sheba Emerges Head of House
Earlier in the day, Sheba emerged as the new Head of House (HOH), earning immunity from this week’s eviction and securing a crucial advantage during the nomination process.
Housemates were then thrown another curveball when Biggie abandoned the traditional nomination format. Instead of nominating fellow contestants for possible eviction, they were instructed to vote to save three housemates.
Following the initial voting, Tram, Barry, Cassi, Goddessa and Bells secured the highest number of save votes.
However, exercising her exclusive Head of House privilege, Sheba was given the power to revoke the immunity of one saved contestant and transfer it to another. She chose to remove Cassi from the safe list and replace her with Chimsom Chuka.
In addition, Flora and Aikou, who hold this season’s special Gambits status, automatically retained immunity from eviction.
Sixteen Housemates Face Eviction
Following Monday’s dramatic twists, 16 housemates have been placed on the eviction list.
They are: Abi, Araga, Bluethopia, Cassi, Gerard, Kamsy, Keivo, Martins, Mercedes, Nomy, Neche, Oyin, Ricky, Sultex, Temi Nkem and Yusuf.
Voting is now open and will close at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fans can vote for their favourite contestants through the MyDStv App, MyGOtv App, or the official Africa Magic website.
