Carry1st, Mentos extend partnership for 2026 Africa Cup

Carry1st today announced the continuation of its partnership with global confectionery brand Mentos for the Carry1st Africa Cup 2026, spanning the Nigeria Qualifiers and the Grand Finals, set to take place on September 5–6 at the Los Angeles Event Centre in Abuja, Nigeria.

Now in its third year, the Carry1st Africa Cup brings together Africa’s strongest Call of Duty: Mobile teams and serves as the official African qualifier for the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship. The eventual champions will earn the opportunity to represent the continent on the global stage.

Following their collaboration in 2025, this year’s partnership expands Mentos’ involvement beyond the final weekend, creating more opportunities for the brand to engage with the players and fans throughout the Nigerian leg of the competition.

“The Carry1st Africa Cup is about building a stage worthy of Africa’s gaming talent and the community behind it. Bringing Mentos back on board is exciting because they understand the energies and connections that make this community what it is. As the Africa Cup continues to grow, we appreciate working with brands that see gaming as a culture worth investing in,” said Dominion Eromosele, Growth Lead, Call of Duty: Mobile at Carry1st.

Beyond the Competition
Gaming has become a space where competition and culture increasingly intersect, with fans engaging not only through gameplay, but through creators, content and the experiences surrounding the game.

Through its presence at the tournament, Mentos will bring the energy off-screen, through into a dedicated Fan Zone at the finals, where fans can test their skills through gaming challenges, take on interactive experiences, connect with the brand and enjoy refreshing Mentos gum sampling to keep the energy high between matches.

“Returning for a second year to the Carry1st Africa Cup is a natural fit for Mentos Gum. Gaming is a part of the culture for the brand audience powered by passion, energy and community, and we want Mentos to be an integral part of these moments via refreshing breaks. For us, it is another opportunity to bring Mentos freshness to the culture, both in and beyond the game, and reinforce “Yes to Fresh” together with the gaming community”, said Shankar Iyer, Marketing Director for Perfetti Van Melle Nigeria, owner of brand Mentos.

Fans across Africa will be able to follow the Carry1st Africa Cup 2026 Grand Finals live on Carry1st’s YouTube channel as Africa’s top Call of Duty: Mobile teams take to the stage in Abuja.
