Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has alleged that soldiers are attempting to prevent him from entering Osun State as voters head to the polls in Saturday’s governorship election.

“I’ve been reliably informed that soldiers are trying to prevent me from entering Osun tomorrow, this won’t happen, every citizen of Nigeria has the right to movement at any point of time,” Davido wrote.
His claim came against the backdrop of a movement restriction announced by the Nigeria Police Force ahead of the election.
The police said movement would be restricted throughout Osun from midnight on Friday, August 14, until 6pm on Saturday, August 15, as part of security measures for the election.
Thousands of police officers and personnel from other security agencies are on ground across the state to maintain law and order during the poll.
