The Ijebu Southern District Grammar School Old Students Association, Ala-Ijebu (ISDGSOSA), has elected a new executive committee with a mandate to work tirelessly to drive the growth and development of the association and its alma mater.
The new executives, who will pilot the affairs of the association for the next two years, were elected during the National Executive Election held at the school hall in Ala-Ijebu, Ogun State, on Saturday, August 1.
According to a statement issued by the National President, Mrs. Adesimbo Peters, and National Publicity Secretary, Prince Temitope Ogunbanke, the election produced a team committed to strengthening the association and contributing meaningfully to the development of Ijebu Southern District Grammar School.
The newly elected executives are Mrs. Adesimbo Peters, President; Mr. Oladele Ogunnaike, First Vice President; Dr. Yusuf Adebayo, Second Vice President; Chief Sunmola Alowonle, General Secretary; Mrs. Oluwakemi Soyemi, Assistant General Secretary; and Prince Temitope Ogunbanke, National Publicity Secretary.
Others are Mr. Olawale Odunnaike, National Treasurer; Mrs. Abisola Kolawole, Auditor 1; Mrs. Nuratu Adebogun, Auditor 2; Alhaja Monsurat Lawal, National Financial Secretary; and Mrs. Bolanle Balogun, National Social Secretary.
Speaking during her welcome address, Peters said the new executive would work tirelessly to strengthen the association, promote unity among members and accelerate the growth and development of the school.
She said her administration would pursue a purposeful and impactful agenda focused on giving back to the alma mater through infrastructure development and academic support for students.
“My focus is to strengthen our unity. I pledge to lead a purposeful and impactful executive. We will give back to the alma mater by improving infrastructure in the school and assisting the students to excel in their academics,” she said.
Peters added that the association would explore initiatives capable of creating lasting value for the school and its students while strengthening the bond among old students.
Reacting to the election, the ISDGSOSA National Electoral Committee congratulated the newly elected officers, describing their emergence through a credible electoral process as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in them by delegates.
The Chairman of the National Electoral Committee, Chief Joseph Odufuwa, and its Secretary, Alhaji Rahmon Olusada, said the successful election had provided the association with a strong leadership team capable of advancing its objectives.
They urged the new executives to justify the confidence placed in them by members by working collectively and diligently to deliver meaningful progress during their tenure.
