The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system allowing candidates to upload and verify their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes, eliminating the need for unnecessary visits to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
The Board announced the development as part of its renewed efforts to make its services faster, safer, easier and more accessible to candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions.
Under the new arrangement, candidates will be able to initiate the verification of their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results directly with the relevant examination bodies, beginning with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
JAMB said the initiative would significantly reduce the challenges associated with the manual uploading of O’Level results at CBT centres, including long queues, network-related difficulties, misplaced documents and errors in the manual entry of subjects and grades.
The Board said it had integrated its e-Facility platform with examination bodies to enable candidates’ results to be checked directly against the records of the issuing examination organisations.
Once verified, the results can then be downloaded into the candidate’s JAMB profile, reducing the risk of fraudulent, unverified or incorrectly entered results.
How Candidates Can Verify Their O’Level Results
According to JAMB, candidates seeking to use the new service are required to first visit http://buyresultsverificationcode.ng.
Candidates should then enter their National Identification Number (NIN) and click on “Verify NIN”.
They are required to select the number of examination sittings and the relevant examination body or bodies before clicking “Continue”.
Candidates will then provide their email address and GSM number and click on “Pay Now” to proceed to the payment gateway.
Payment can be made using a debit card or bank transfer.
After successful payment, candidates will be required to enter their examination details, including their examination number, examination series and examination year.
The candidate’s result or results can then be verified based on the number of sittings selected, after which a Verification Code will be issued.
How to Upload the Verified Result
After obtaining the Verification Code, candidates are required to send “VERIFY” followed by their Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.
JAMB said the result would subsequently be uploaded and the candidate would receive a notification.
Candidates with two examination sittings will be required to log into their profiles on the JAMB e-Facility platform after receiving the notification.
On the e-Facility dashboard, they should click on “2026 UTME O’Level Upload” and enter their Verification Code.
The candidate’s two verified results will then be displayed.
Candidates must select the required subjects from the displayed results, with JAMB directing that:
- A minimum of five subjects must be selected.
- A maximum of nine subjects may be selected.
- No subject should be selected more than once.
After selecting the required subjects, candidates should click “Apply the O’Level Results”.
JAMB said a notification confirming successful submission would be issued once the upload is completed.
JAMB Says New System Will Ease Pressure on CBT Centres
The Board said the new verification service would provide candidates with a more convenient alternative, particularly during periods of high patronage at CBT centres and when candidates experience network challenges.
JAMB said the initiative was also designed to place candidates at the centre of its service delivery by using technology to eliminate avoidable physical visits, queues and manual processes.
The Board said the system would further strengthen the integrity of the admission process by ensuring that O’Level results are verified directly with the examination bodies before being uploaded to candidates’ profiles.
The initiative forms part of the commitment of JAMB’s sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, to transforming the Board into a more customer-focused and technology-driven organisation.
According to the Board, it will continue to deploy technology and collaborate with examination and government agencies to simplify its services and make them safer and more accessible to candidates.
