Napoli midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, has named Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus as the player he wants the Serie A club to sign before the deadline.
He said a forward like the Brazilian is necessary, as he offers a different style compared to their current players.
In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, De Bruyne praised Jesus, commending his hold-up play.
He said that the Brazilian forward understands what it takes to secure victories, saying, “Quality. Quality in attack – on the ball, in hold-up play, and in the build-up. He’s the type of player we likely lack at the moment; he’s distinct from Rasmus or Lorenzo [Lucca].
“If he were to come on board, he could be a significant asset. Additionally, he brings valuable experience: he knows how to achieve success. That’s crucial; we’ll see how things unfold. No, he hasn’t reached out to me.”
Jesus is currently in the last year of his contract with the Gunners and has attracted interest from multiple clubs.
Reports suggest that Italian teams are leading the pursuit, with Napoli allegedly in negotiations with the Premier League club.
Arsenal are actively seeking to sell Gabriel Jesus, yet the Brazilian has not reached agreement with any team.
He is said to be eager to extend his stay at the Emirates and has expressed his desire for a new contract.
De Bruyne and Jesus played together in 156 matches at Manchester City, contributing to a total of 29 goals during their time on the field together.
