President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of building a US$1 trillion economy is more than an ambitious economic target. It is a national call to transform Nigeria into a globally competitive economy driven by investment, industrialisation, innovation, productivity and inclusive prosperity.
The Federal Government has rightly prioritised macroeconomic reforms, infrastructure renewal, tax reform, fiscal discipline, food security, energy transition, digital innovation and investment promotion. Yet one indispensable foundation underpins every reform: security.
History demonstrates that no nation has achieved sustainable economic greatness while significant portions of its territory remained insecure. Investors seek certainty. Farmers require safety. Manufacturers need secure supply chains. Traders depend on safe transport corridors. Schools flourish where communities enjoy peace.
Nigeria’s insecurity largely originates within communities across the 774 Local Government Areas. If insecurity begins locally, sustainable security must also begin locally.
This is the philosophy of Project 774 Network. The Network advocates activating every Local Government Area as an organised partner in security, responsible citizenship and development through collaboration among communities, traditional rulers, religious institutions, local governments, civil society, the private sector and statutory security agencies.
Project 774 Network promotes structured community engagement, intelligence sharing, early warning, conflict prevention and resilience while strengthening—not replacing—existing security institutions.
Security is productive capital. Secure farms increase food production. Secure roads enhance commerce. Secure schools build human capital. Secure investments create jobs. Secure communities generate prosperity.
The journey to a US$1 trillion economy therefore requires Nigeria to integrate grassroots security into national economic planning. Every Local Government should maintain sustainable security-development partnerships supported by technology, community participation and accountable governance.

Nation-building begins in the communities. Security begins in the communities. Prosperity begins in the communities. The road to a US$1 trillion economy begins in Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas.
