The District Head of Gwandu in Kebbi State, Alhaji Muhammadu Rasheed (also known as Sarkin Gabas), has passed away.
Kebbi State Governor aides Ahmed Idris and Abdullahi Idris confirmed his death on Wednesday, stating that his funeral prayer was scheduled for 3:00 PM at the Palace of the Emir of Gwandu in Birnin Kebbi.
The late traditional ruler succeeded his father, the late Alhaji Muhammadu Bashar Mai-Wurno.
Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris who was in the United States attending the United Nations General Assembly alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima expressed deep shock over the loss, calling it a major blow to the state and its traditional institutions while praying for the deceased’s family and the people of Gwandu.
