The Rivers State House of Assembly has summoned the management of PAMO University of Medical Sciences, the state Accountant General, the Commissioner for Education, the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Education, and other officials to appear before the House.
The Assembly says the summons is issued pursuant to Sections 128 and 129 of the Nigerian Constitution.
Those summoned are expected to appear before an Ad-hoc Committee of the House on September 16.
Speaker of the Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, cautioned those invited against failing to honour the summons.
The development comes weeks after the House rejected the proposed N6 billion allocation to PAMO University in the state’s 2026 budget.
Amaewhule said the Assembly wants to establish whether funds allocated to the university over the years were properly used for the purposes for which they were released.
