British rapper Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, will face a new trial on r@pe charges in Australia.

A jury recently failed to reach a verdict on some of the charges against him, even though they found him not guilty on several others.

The content creator was accused of repeatedly r@ping and assaulting a fan after performing at a nightclub in Perth in 2024.

He denied all 10 charges.

At last month’s trial, the jury cleared him of three r@pe counts.

He was also acquitted of one assault charge and a strangulation charge.

However, the jury found him guilty on two assault counts, though sentencing on those will come only after the retrial.

The incident allegedly happened when Barrientos, 31, was touring Australia.

He was accused of s+xually assaulting the woman, who was 20 at the time, in his hotel room after his performance in a suburb of Perth.

Barrientos admitted to having consensual s+x with the fan in his room, but she claimed he then became violent and refused to stop when she told him to.

In court, Barrientos said he had been interested in the woman when they first met at the concert venue.

He recalled that things felt friendly between them when they went to his hotel later.

The prosecutor argued that Barrientos was an entitled man with some level of fame who had violated the woman in a deeply invasive way.

Barrientos’s lawyer countered that the accuser’s account was full of contradictions and falsehoods.

Barrientos, who was born in Colombia and grew up in the UK, is known for his work with the YouTube group Beta Squad.

He has also appeared on a celebrity cooking show and presented programmes for a television network.

He is scheduled to appear in court on August 27 for a hearing about his bail conditions. No date has been set for the retrial yet.

The prosecution has confirmed that the woman is willing to testify again.
