Police in Lagos have arrested six people after a video circulated online showing suspected gang members harassing drivers on a road in the city.
The video showed the suspects allegedly trying to damage a car’s side mirror, which sparked public concern.
A police spokesperson said officers had already been watching out for people involved in this kind of behavior and had taken steps to stop it before the video went viral.
Following the incident, the six suspects were arrested on the same road where the harassment took place, and an investigation is continuing.
The police have also sent more officers to patrol the area more closely to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
The spokesperson thanked members of the public for bringing the video to the police’s attention and asked residents to keep sharing useful information that could help police operations.
Police said they remain committed to keeping motorists and other residents safe while fighting crime across Lagos.
