Has Poco Lee been arrested in UK?

By Tolulope Oke

Questions are swirling around Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee after reports emerged claiming he had been arrested in the United Kingdom over an alleged sexual offence.

Arise News reported on Wednesday that the entertainer had allegedly been arrested in connection with a rape allegation, citing reports circulating online.

However, the report has not been backed by an official statement from UK law enforcement authorities or a court record confirming that Poco Lee is in custody.

It emphasized that details surrounding the alleged arrest remain unclear, including the circumstances of the allegation, the identity of the complainant and whether any formal charge has been filed.

The development has generated intense reactions on social media, where claims about the dancer’s whereabouts and legal status have spread rapidly.

Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, is a popular Nigerian dancer, singer and hype man who rose to prominence through viral dance performances and collaborations with leading music stars.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian-born, Texas-based rapper identified as Ms Jorji has separately accused Poco Lee of attempting to sexually assault her and her girlfriend about two years ago.

In videos circulating online, Ms Jorji alleged that the incident occurred while she was seeking Poco Lee’s advice about entering the music industry. Her allegations surfaced amid the controversy over reports of his alleged arrest.

Her claims have also not been independently established by a court or law enforcement agency.

There is presently no verified evidence linking Ms Jorji’s allegation directly to the reported UK arrest.

Poco Lee has also not, as of the latest available reports, issued a public statement addressing either the reported arrest or Ms Jorji’s accusations.

Until a UK police force, court, prosecutors or the entertainer’s representatives provide formal confirmation, claims that Poco Lee has been arrested should be treated as unverified rather than established fact.
