Police officers in Ogun State have arrested two suspected @rm£d r0bb£rs and recovered three locally made p!st0ls and 18 bullets during operations in Ogun and Lagos states.

The suspects, Adeyinka Onakomaya, 46, and Olayiwola Kehinde, 48, were caught and accused of involvement in @rm£d r0bb£ry, c@rj@ck!ng and illegal possession of fi£@rms.

The breakthrough came after months of investigation following the recovery of a stolen red Toyota Matrix in April 2026.

That vehicle was connected to an @rm£d r0bb£ry incident reported the same month, which led detectives to expand their search and eventually locate the suspects’ hideouts.

Onakomaya was found in the Babaode area along Idiroko Road in Ogun State, while Kehinde was arrested in Lagos State.

During preliminary questioning, investigators discovered that the two men, along with other gang members, planned the April robbery and were also linked to multiple violent vehicle thefts across Ota, Iju, Babaode and Atan areas of Ogun State.

When officers searched the suspects, they found three locally made p!st0ls and 18 live cartridges.

Both men reportedly admitted during interrogation to their roles in several @rm£d r0bb£ry operations in the state.

Police are continuing efforts to locate and arrest other members of the robbery gang.

The police commissioner praised the officers for their hard work and efficiency, saying the arrests and recovery of weapons show the force’s commitment to solving all criminal cases completely.

He assured residents that the police remain focused on breaking up @rm£d r0bb£ry networks and making Ogun State difficult for criminals to operate in.

He called on the public to help by reporting any suspicious activity.
