SBI Media, Nigeria’s leading independent media agency, marks 13 years of redefining marketing communications in Nigeria and beyond, celebrating the milestone in a way that goes beyond business by taking its impact directly into the community.
To mark the anniversary, SBI Media recently took its anniversary celebration into the Kosofe community in Lagos, where thousands of community members benefited from a health-focused outreach.
Speaking on the milestone, Rotimi Bankole, Managing Director/CEO, SBI Media, said:
“Our 13th anniversary is a celebration of how far we have come, but more importantly, how deliberately we have evolved. We have expanded our reach, embraced technology and continuously challenged ourselves to deliver smarter solutions for our clients.
“However, growth for us is not only about business. We believe the value we create should extend into society. That is why this anniversary is also an opportunity to give back meaningfully to the Kosofe community.
“As we look ahead, we remain committed to staying ahead of the curve, shaping the industry’s ecosystem and creating meaningful impact for our clients, our people and the communities we serve” he said.
During the outreach, thousands of members of the community, were provided with medicated glasses to address presbyopia, a common age-related condition that makes it difficult to see objects up close, had their health vitals checked by medical professionals, received medical advice and guidance. At the same time, the initiative transformed SBI Media’s 13th anniversary from a celebration of business growth into a tangible community impact, bringing basic health support and practical solutions directly to people within the Kosofe community.
This initiative reflects a central belief that has shaped SBI Media’s journey: impact should not stop at the boardroom, the campaign, or the balance sheet. It should be felt in societies.
Also speaking during the successful outreach, Kayode Olowoyeye, Group General Manager, SBI Media, said:
“As we celebrate 13 years of SBI Media, we wanted to do something that goes beyond marking another year in business. We wanted to create an experience with a real immediate impact on people. Seeing thousands of members of the Kosofe community come out to have their health vitals checked, receive medical advice and get glasses to help improve their vision made this initiative particularly meaningful for us. It reinforces our belief that the growth of a business should also translate into value for the communities around it.”
Also speaking on the impact of the initiative, A community leader, Mrs. Adebisi Yusuf expressed her appreciation to SBI Media for organising the medical outreach, noting that the initiative had made a meaningful difference in the community.
She said: “We are very grateful to SBI Media for coming into our community and organising this medical outreach. It has been very impactful for our people, especially those who were able to receive significant medical advice and attention. We truly appreciate SBI Media for thinking of the community as part of its anniversary celebration. We hope to see more initiatives like this carried out within our community in the future.”
