Chelsea are not expected to miss striker Liam Delap, who is set to join Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest.
Delap, who will undergo his Nottingham Forest medical on Wednesday, has failed to flourish at Chelsea since joining the Blues from Ipswich Town in 2025.
The 23-year-old was left out of Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso’s squad for the 3-2 win over Fulham in the Premier League on Monday.
Chelsea have also signed two strikers this summer, Emmanuel Emegha from Strasbourg and Danny Welbeck from Brighton, to help bolster Alonso’s attack, meaning Delap’s departure is not expected to be keenly felt.
Speaking about Delap’s imminent move to Nottingham Forest, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood said on Soccer Special:
“We know Liam’s got the ability; he’s shown that in the past.
“It never worked out at Chelsea. You need the manager to love you and play you every week, even if you are not playing well. I think he will get that with Glasner at Nottingham Forest.”
