Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has distributed 100 operational vehicles to security agencies.
The police, army, NSCDC, DSS and local security outfits received them.
The vehicles will strengthen security operations, improve response to emergencies and boost personnel mobi
They’ll also support the planned state police outfit.
Oyebanji told the agencies that with much given, much is expected.
There should be increased patrols, strategic visibility, faster response and professional conduct.
No excuses or lapses.
The administration will continue monthly financial support to all agencies and increase capacity of state-owned security institutions.
The governor urged the security apparatus to stay vigilant and alert as the state moves toward inauguration ceremonies next month and elections in four months.
All hands must be on deck to keep Ekiti safe.
Oyebanji said intelligence agencies should use surveillance technology available in the state.
Agencies must work together, not in isolation.
He noted that Ekiti is one of the most secure states in the country because of his administration’s commitment to security.
Two years ago, the state also distributed patrol vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, bulletproof vests and helmets.
The governor praised community security initiatives, vigilante groups and traditional rulers for grassroots security efforts.
He credited President Tinubu’s reforms that gave states more funds for making the vehicle procurement possible.
He urged Ekiti people to vote for Tinubu and APC candidates in 2027.
