Ghanaian artiste PBee is adding his voice to the growing conversation around Ghana’s place in the ever-expanding Afrobeats movement with his latest single, “Lose My Mind,” featuring SIICIE.
Born Michael Osei Frimpong in Kumasi, PBee is part of a new generation of Ghanaian musicians exploring contemporary Afrobeats while maintaining elements of Ghanaian musical identity.
His sound combines melodic songwriting with modern Afropop influences, creating music designed to connect beyond geographical boundaries.
Lose My Mind captures that approach. The love song explores intense emotional connection, vulnerability and the fear of losing someone important. Its Ghanaian-English and Twi lyrics give the record a distinct Ghanaian identity, while its warm production makes it accessible to a broader Afrobeats audience.
PBee first gained wider attention when a freestyle video of Space, his debut single, went viral across social media. He later expanded his catalogue with songs including BAD, featuring Camidoh, demonstrating his ability to move between introspective songwriting and collaborative Afrobeats energy.
Signed to Grind Don’t Stop Records, PBee is now taking his music into new territories, including Nigeria.
His growing presence raises an important question: Does Afrobeats have a geographical boundary, or has the genre become a wider African musical language?
