Minister of Works David Umahi has described the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Peter Obi, as a lucky man.
Umahi, who spoke while addressing supporters during a project supervision exercise on Thursday, denied attacking the former governor of Anambra State.
According to the minister, Obi is lucky because, despite challenging people to verify his achievements, he believes the exercise has shown that Obi achieved nothing, yet people are still talking about him.
“People are saying that the Igbos are insulting Peter Obi. I don’t think any reasonable person will insult him.
“I want to say that Peter Obi is a lucky man because when you say people should go and verify and there is nothing they see, yet some people are still talking,” he said.
The minister stated that the NDC presidential candidate should not expect those working for President Bola Tinubu to remain silent when the president is being challenged.
“If you’re challenging President Bola Tinubu and the president is working and he is using us to work, then you expect us to keep quiet? We will not keep quiet.
“When you condemn people, you bring judgement upon yourself. When you say that you are holier than the angels, then we have to analyse to see if it is true,” he added.
