The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Panyam District, has demanded stronger security in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State after participating in the mass burial of victims of the Koggul village attack.
CAN made the call in a condolence message to the bereaved families and the Koggul community following the attack.
The association expressed sympathy with the affected families and prayed for those injured to recover from their wounds.
During its condolence visit, CAN urged residents to remain united and vigilant while protecting one another.
The Christian body also appealed to the Federal Government, Plateau State Government, local authorities and security agencies to intensify efforts to protect lives and property and prevent further attacks.
“May the souls of the departed rest in peace. May God comfort every grieving heart, heal the wounded, and preserve His Church and our communities from every form of violence and destruction,” the statement said.
CAN said it would continue to pray for peace, justice and healing in Mangu and across Plateau State while supporting families affected by the attack.
