Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate, Chimsom Chuka, has been evicted from the reality show in a stunning turn of events.
Chimsom’s exit came as a shock to many viewers, considering the influence he had built inside the house and his emergence as one of the prominent contenders in this year’s competition.
From the opening days of the “Show Ya Sef” season, Chimsom established himself as a force to reckon with. A pharmacist, actor and creative agency founder, he brought a combination of resourcefulness, humour, competitiveness and strategic thinking to the house.
He announced his presence almost immediately, winning the first Head of House challenge of the season and becoming the first housemate to occupy the position. His victory, which came after he recorded the fastest overall time in the opening challenge, earned him immunity from that week’s eviction.
But Chimsom’s influence was not limited to winning challenges. In Week 2, he was voted by his fellow housemates as the first Most Influential Player of the season, a recognition that reflected his growing impact on the dynamics of the house. The title also came with immunity from the following week’s eviction nominations.
He would later underline his competitive credentials by winning the Head of House title for a second time in Week 5. His second victory came after he navigated a series of demanding challenges involving speed, balance, accuracy and strategy.
For much of his stay, Chimsom therefore appeared to be playing from a position of strength. He was visible in the house’s major conversations, participated actively in tasks and challenges, and remained central to several of the season’s unfolding relationships and storylines.
His combination of intelligence, humour and competitiveness also helped make him one of the housemates’ viewers closely followed.
Indeed, by the middle of the season, Chimsom had developed the profile of a serious contender. His two Head of House victories, Most Influential Player recognition and repeated involvement in the game’s major twists had made him one of the more prominent figures in the house.
That is what makes his eviction particularly startling. A housemate who had once occupied the centre of power in Biggie’s house is now out of the race for the ₦160 million grand prize.
Chimsom’s departure also means the competition has lost one of its most recognisable personalities, leaving the remaining housemates to fight on as the season moves closer to its decisive stages.
For a contestant who began the season at the front of the pack, his journey has ended in one of the biggest surprises of the “Show Ya Sef” season.
