Nigerian forwards Gift Orban and Victor Osimhen are now joint top scorers in the Turkish Super Lig after Orban scored a hat trick in Amedspor’s 5 0 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir on Sunday.

Orban’s three goals took his league tally to six, putting him level with Osimhen at the top of the scoring chart.

The Amedspor striker produced an impressive second half performance, scoring three times to complete a dominant victory for his team.

Orban opened his account seven minutes after the restart when he headed Furkan Soyalp’s cross into the bottom corner.

Just two minutes later, he doubled his tally after finishing a quick counter attack from a pass by Ermal Krasniqi.

The Nigerian completed his hat trick with 15 minutes remaining, again converting a pass from Krasniqi.

The treble means Orban has now scored six goals in five league appearances since joining Amedspor on loan during the summer transfer window. He has quickly become one of the leading scorers in the Turkish top flight.

Osimhen also has six goals for Galatasaray this season. The Super Eagles striker scored his goals in four league appearances before suffering a hamstring injury.

With both Nigerians sitting at the top of the scoring chart, Orban’s latest performance could also strengthen his case for a return to the Super Eagles squad.

The 23 year old will now hope to continue his goalscoring form and move ahead of Osimhen when Amedspor return to action in the Turkish Super Lig.
