Titi Abubakar, wife of the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, is urging young Nigerians to vote for her husband in 2027, saying that once he’s in office, the country will be so impressed with his performance that people will want him to stay for a second term, even though he’s pledging just one.
Speaking at a campaign event in Abuja, Titi said her husband doesn’t need to learn how to govern because he has plenty of experience already.
She painted him as someone ready to hit the ground running, not a beginner who will waste time figuring things out on the job.
She also suggested that if he keeps his one-term promise, his deputy could take over after that, having been trained by Atiku during his first five years.
The real point, she said, is that Atiku is the kind of material Nigerians need he’s a known philanthropist, he’s done big things before, and he’s coming to give back, not to steal from the country like she suggested some politicians do.
Titi warned young voters not to sell their votes to the highest bidder.
She said that when you sell your vote, you’re not just cheating yourself you’re cheating your entire generation and all the children who will come after you.
She was harsh on the current administration, saying nothing is working.
The economy is a mess, there’s been no proper budget since 2023, and she questioned how Nigerians are even surviving under these conditions.
Atiku, she promised, will fix these problems if elected.
She called on young people and women to help mobilise support for the ADC on the ground as the 2027 election approaches.
Atiku is a sellable material, that’s why I’m so proud of my husband. He’s about to turn 80 years old, and he just wants to educate Nigerian youths about politics. He doesn’t want Nigeria’s money.”
