The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has dismissed reports that the group, alongside the Eastern Security Network, ESN, is planning to resume the enforcement of the sit-at-home order in the South-East on Monday, October 12, 2026.

The alleged plan was disclosed in an intelligence report released by the police.
However, IPOB dismissed the report in a statement by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, on Monday.

The statement read, “The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), under the supreme leadership of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, rejects the allegations contained in the purported police intelligence report dated 9 October 2026, which claims that IPOB/ESN intends to resume Monday sit-at-home enforcement from 12 October 2026.
“The Nigerian Police Force, acting in concert with scrupulous politicians and residual elements of the sacked and long-expelled members of the compromised third administration of the Directorate of State, has once again recycled its tired and transparent propaganda script.

“The so-called “Intelligence Report” dated 9th October 2026, bearing reference CB:4089/FID/INTLAB/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.14/231 and signed under the name of the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Intelligence Department, is a fabrication pure and simple. It is designed for one purpose only: to distract public attention from the clear, unambiguous position of our leader, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, delivered at the AVID Convention — that there will be no referendum, no dialogue, and that IPOB will boycott the forthcoming elections.
“There is no voice note. There is no order from IPOB or ESN to resume any sit-at-home. There is no plan by this movement to enforce anything on the people of the South-East or Imo State. IPOB has repeatedly stated, and we restate today with absolute clarity: we have no business with enforcement. Our struggle is political, lawful, and directed solely at the realisation of Biafran self-determination through peaceful means.
“What the public is witnessing is the familiar pattern: Withdrawal or deliberate redeployment of security personnel.

Fabrication of a “threat” document.
Circulation of an anonymous voice note attributed to “unidentified individuals.”
Then the stage is set for the usual wave of insecurity that the same security agencies and their political sponsors later attempt to pin on IPOB.
“We had already raised the alarm that the recent withdrawal of security personnel was a deliberate prelude to the unleashing of another round of chaos in our land. The appearance of this forged intelligence report confirms that assessment.
“The APC regime and its collaborators in Imo State should stop investing scarce public resources in propaganda and false-flag operations. They should instead address the real suffering of the masses — hunger, unemployment, insecurity of their own making, and the continued illegal detention of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“We question the authenticity, provenance and evidential basis of this report, referenced CB:4089/FID/INTLAB/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.14/23
“The Nigeria Police Force must produce verifiable evidence supporting its allegations, including the original recording, its source, the identity of the speaker where ascertainable, and the basis for attributing the alleged message to IPOB or ESN.
“The people Biafra are not fools. They know this script by heart. They will not be deceived. IPOB remains focused on our stated course of action: total boycott of the elections. No amount of fabricated documents, voice notes, or media theatrics will alter that decision.
“The Nigerian state and its agents can continue their lies. History, and the people, will judge.”
