Jamie Foxx reveals the what changed his mind about becoming a father again at 58

Jamie Foxx has opened up about his decision to welcome another child at 58, admitting he was initially unsure about becoming a father again before a conversation with veteran actor Al Pacino changed his perspective.

The Oscar-winning actor revealed that he was “a little on the fence” when he found out he was expecting a baby with his girlfriend, Alyce Huckstepp.

Foxx, whose real name is Eric Bishop, already has two daughters — Corinne, 32, and Anelise, 17 — from previous relationships.

Speaking about becoming a father later in life, Foxx said he had doubts because of his age, but a meeting with Pacino helped ease his concerns.

“I said, ‘Al, you gonna be back in the drop-off line at school?’” Foxx joked, referring to Pacino welcoming a son in 2023 at the age of 83 with producer Noor Alfallah.

“I said, ‘Aw man, shoot I’m good,’” he added.

The Ray actor also revealed that his health crisis in 2023 played a major role in changing how he viewed life and family.

Jamie Foxx suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke in April 2023, leaving him hospitalised for more than a month.

“A few years back, I went through something horrible,” he said, crediting his daughter Corinne for helping him through the difficult period.

“My daughter made sure I got back. Now, seeing that I have a new life and to have my daughters embrace it, that’s all that matters.”

The actor’s daughter Corinne has also expressed excitement about welcoming a new sibling, praising her father’s parenting.

“I’m very excited for Jamie. He’s the best dad in the world. And so, he is going to thrive and excel,” she said.

Foxx is currently promoting the eighth season of the musical game show Beat Shazam, where he continues to serve as host.
