Nigerians living in the United Kingdom will have another opportunity to access passport services as the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) begins a special intervention exercise across four UK cities in September.
The exercise, which is designed to address pending passport applications and other related issues, will be conducted in London, Manchester, Aberdeen and Cardiff.
According to the NIS, the intervention follows a directive from the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, as well as consultations with the Nigerian High Commission and representatives of Nigerian communities in the UK.
A Passport Intervention Team has been deployed from the NIS headquarters in Abuja to conduct the exercise.
In a statement issued on Monday, the NIS Service Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, said the London and Manchester sessions would run from September 7 to 19, 2026.
The London team will operate from Layali Lounge, Trent Park, Bramley Road, London N14 4UW, while Nigerians in Manchester can access the service at Nigerian House, 23 Platt Lane, Manchester M14 5NE.
The team will subsequently move to Aberdeen and Cardiff, where the intervention will run from September 21 to 26.
In Aberdeen, the exercise will take place at Hilton Convention Centre, 13 Smithfield Road, Aberdeen AB24 4NR. The Cardiff venue is Sophia Gardens, Sophia Walk, Cardiff CF11 9XR.
The NIS advised Nigerians in the four cities and nearby communities to use the opportunity to apply for new passports, renew existing ones and resolve applications that have remained pending.
However, applicants are required to complete their applications and make payments through the NIS Passport Application portal before attending the intervention exercise.
Those attending the exercise must come with their completed application forms, payment slips showing proof of payment, appointment slips and a self-addressed return envelope.
Applicants seeking passport renewal must also present their current passports.
The Immigration Service specifically warned against bringing cash to the venues.
“Applicants who come with cash will not be attended to,” the statement said.
The NIS further appealed to applicants to cooperate with officials and follow the procedures in place to ensure that the exercise runs smoothly.
It said Nigerians could also continue to use its digital passport services, including the Contactless Passport Application System. Home delivery of passports is also available.

The latest intervention follows an earlier announcement by the NIS on the deployment of the special team to the UK. The initiative is intended to provide assistance to Nigerians dealing with pending applications, new passport requests and renewals.
The Service said the exercise formed part of its broader efforts to improve passport services for Nigerians living outside the country.
The announcement was dated August 31, 2026, and signed by Akinlabi on behalf of the NIS Headquarters in Abuja.
