The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has congratulated the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, on his inauguration as Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas.
The inauguration took place on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, and was performed by the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun. The ceremony was attended by traditional rulers from the state’s 20 local government areas.
Oba Gbadebo’s emergence follows the expiration of the tenure of the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, as chairman of the council.
The Ogun State Council of Obas serves as an important advisory body to the state government on matters relating to the socio-economic development, peace and stability of the state.
In a congratulatory message, Senator Adeola described the inauguration as a recognition of Oba Gbadebo’s wealth of experience, wisdom and longstanding commitment to the peace, unity and development of Egbaland and Ogun State.
He expressed confidence that the Alake’s leadership would strengthen collaboration between traditional institutions and government, while further promoting peace, unity and development across the state.
Senator Adeola also prayed that Almighty God would grant the monarch greater wisdom, sound health, strength and long life as he assumes the new responsibility.
