A large container truck crashed into a broken-down waste management truck on a Lagos road Thursday night, injuring at least one person.
The accident happened at Apakun on the road toward Iyana-Isolo.
A waste management truck had broken down and stopped on the road when the container truck, which is 20 feet long, rammed into it.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority said its rescue team rushed to the scene.
The agency brought in a crane and a heavy-duty tow truck to remove both vehicles so traffic could flow again.
One person who was hurt was taken to the hospital, though details about how badly they were injured were not given.
Video of the scene posted online showed a victim lying on the ground at the accident site.
The accident highlights a serious problem on Lagos roads.
Heavy trucks often break down and block traffic, which increases the chance of crashes like this one.
Authorities have repeatedly told truck operators and drivers to follow safety rules and remove broken-down vehicles from the road quickly to prevent secondary accidents from happening.
