One person has d!ed and several houses were destroyed after heavy rain and strong winds hit Shanga Local Government Area in Kebbi State on Monday night.
The storm struck between 11:30 pm and midnight on September 7, affecting parts of Shanga town, Yar Besse and surrounding communities.
The heavy rainfall combined with powerful winds caused significant damage, with houses collapsing and residents losing property.
The local government chairman went to the affected areas the following day to see the damage firsthand.
He is expected to report what he found to the Kebbi State governor so officials can assess the situation and plan a response.
