Mohamed Salah has been banned from driving for six months after being convicted over a speeding incident involving his Rolls Royce in Cheshire.
The Egyptian forward was also ordered to pay £1,044 in fines, court costs and a victim surcharge after failing to identify who was driving his car when it was caught speeding.
According to The Sun, Salah’s electric Rolls Royce Spectre was recorded travelling at 36mph in a 30mph zone in Wilmslow, Cheshire, in March.
The incident happened two days after Salah announced his departure from Liverpool, ending his long spell with the Premier League club.
The original speeding charge was later withdrawn. However, Salah was convicted for failing to provide information about the person who was driving the vehicle.
The 34 year old was fined £660 and ordered to pay £120 in court costs and a £264 victim surcharge. He was also given a six month driving ban.
This is not the first time Salah has been punished for speeding. In 2022, he was fined £200 and received three penalty points after he was caught speeding while driving his Ferrari.
Despite the latest setback, Salah has made a strong start to life in Turkey following his move to Trabzonspor.
The former Liverpool star recently produced an outstanding performance against Galatasaray, scoring a hat trick and providing an assist as Trabzonspor recorded a 4-0 victory over the Turkish champions.
His three goals also saw him break a Trabzonspor record previously held by former Super Eagles striker Anthony Nwakaeme.
Salah became the first Trabzonspor player to score a hat trick against Galatasaray, surpassing Nwakaeme’s previous record in the fixture.
While Salah will not be allowed to drive for the next six months, he continues to make headlines with his performances on the pitch in Turkey.
