Fanny Roki Awa plans further education after building career through social media

Ivorian content creator and entrepreneur Awa Fanny is preparing to return to formal education as she continues building a career that began unexpectedly through social media.

Known online as Fanny Roki Awa, Fanny was born on October 16, 2002, in Man, Côte d’Ivoire, and currently lives in Abobo, Abidjan.

Her educational background includes a Franco-Arabic education up to Grade 5 (CM2). She did not proceed to secondary school and therefore does not hold a secondary school diploma or higher academic qualification.

Despite this, Fanny has developed a professional career in digital content creation and entrepreneurship since 2022.

She joined TikTok in 2021, initially using the platform for entertainment. Her online activities gradually became more professional between 2022 and 2023 after audiences began responding to her content and brands started approaching her.

“People started reaching out saying they love my videos and then brands started showing interest and working with me,” Fanny said.

The experience has influenced her perspective on the role social media can play in creating professional opportunities.

“At first I thought it will eventually stop but I noticed the more you show up the more your visibility gives you a reason to earn,” she said.

Fanny has since developed commercial relationships with brands including KA Cosmetics, with whom she has collaborated since 2022. In March 2026, she also began a one-year collaboration with Hollantex.

While social media has become an important part of her career, Fanny said she is also working towards continuing her formal education.

“I do not hold any academic qualifications but I intend to enroll very soon, working on that,” she said.

Her story also reflects the role her family played during her childhood. Fanny grew up in Port-Bouët with her paternal grandparents, whom she credits for providing care and guidance during her early years.

She said she comes from two large families and has several brothers and sisters, describing the relationship among them as loving and close.

Fanny’s professional ambitions extend beyond content creation. She said she plans to launch a business soon but has chosen not to disclose details yet.

“I will start a business soon but I want it to be a surprise so everyone can see how hardworking I am,” she said.

She also names Kevine Chambala as a key inspiration, particularly for the person’s conduct both on set and away from professional environments.

For Fanny, the next phase of her journey involves combining her experience as a digital creator with further education and entrepreneurship as she develops her professional ambitions.
