Iraqi PM dismisses Maysan military commander over Saudi drone attacks

Iraq’s Prime Minister has dismissed the commander of the Maysan Operations Command after an investigation confirmed that recent drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia were launched from Iraq.

The decision was announced by the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office following investigations into the attacks, which were traced to a location in Maysan Province in southern Iraq.

The identity of the dismissed commander was not immediately disclosed.

The commander had been responsible for military operations in Maysan Province, according to the statement.
