The Nigeria Police Force, Zone 12 Headquarters in Bauchi, has arrested five suspects allegedly found with two suspected human eyes and other items believed to be linked to money rituals.
The suspects are Abdullahi Idris, Sani Haruna, Auwal Umar, Abubakar Yusuf and Sharu Sale.
The Zone 12 Police Public Relations Officer, SP Jalige Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
He said the suspects were arrested by the Zone’s Intelligence Unit on August 26, 2026.
According to him, the police recovered several items from the suspects, including two suspected human eyes, pieces of white and red cloth and other materials believed to be intended for money ritual purposes.
Jalige said the suspects are currently in police custody and are being questioned by investigators.
He added that the police are investigating the case to establish how the suspects obtained the items and determine whether other people were involved.
The police spokesman said the investigation could lead to the arrest of more suspects.
He added that the five suspects would be taken to court after the investigation is completed.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 12, Vungmoh S. M. Kwaimo, condemned the alleged act.
He urged parents, guardians and members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons and activities to the police.
Kwaimo also assured residents that the police would continue to take action against criminal activities and work to protect lives and property across the zone.
