2027: Defence Minister rallies support for Tinubu, Uba Sani

Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.), has backed President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for re-election in 2027.

Musa declared his support during a meeting with coordinators of GCG Musawah 4 PBAT 2027, a political movement mobilising support for the two leaders.

The gathering in Kaduna brought together the movement’s leadership, coordinators from the state’s 23 local government areas and representatives of more than 300 affiliated groups.

Addressing the gathering, Musa urged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu and Sani ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“I will continue to work hard for Nigeria to succeed,” the minister said.

“We should remain determined to build this country because together we are stronger as a nation.”

Musa also called for religious tolerance, national unity and peaceful coexistence, drawing on his childhood experiences in Sokoto.

“I grew up in Sokoto; there is no way I can object to any religion,” he said.

Recalling his friendships with Muslims and participation in Sallah celebrations, Musa added: “I remember that during Sallah, as children, we were the ones who would hold the ram to be slaughtered.”

The defence minister said Nigeria possessed the human and material resources required to achieve rapid development if its citizens remained united.

“God put us in Nigeria to build this country, and we have the capacity to do it, both in human and material resources,” he said.
