Seriake Dickson, the national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, has made it clear that he does not belong to either the Obidient or Kwankwasiyya movements and identifies only with the NDC.
During a televised interview, Dickson explained that while the two movements have their own separate identities and can operate freely, the people leading them are actually NDC candidates running for president and vice president in the 2027 election.
He stressed that candidates like Peter Obi and Kwankwaso are not running as independent candidates but under the NDC platform.
Dickson mentioned that he has held several meetings with these candidates over time and they have been colleagues, partners and friends through the years, sometimes in the same party and sometimes in different ones.
He said working together now is not unusual given their long history of collaboration and shared goals.
He described the arrangement as a partnership focused on winning the next election, which he called the most important objective.
Dickson noted that there are no internal conflicts to resolve within the NDC at the moment.
He said the party is now ready to move forward with campaigning and making their case directly to Nigerians, with the next major battle being the election itself.
