The Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of legendary Nollywood actor, Olu Jacobs, describing him as a giant whose exit leaves an irreplaceable void in the global film industry.
In a statement released on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, by his campaign’s Head of Communications, Comrade Mark Adebayo, Prince Adebayo paid glowing tributes to the late icon.
He emphasized that the veteran actor was not just a master of his craft, but a shining light who transformed Nigerian cinema.
Prince Adebayo stated that “Olu Jacobs defined the golden era of Nigerian entertainment with absolute discipline. He treated every role with dignity and respect. He set a golden standard for acting across Africa and beyond. His iconic voice and commanding stage presence inspired millions.”
The statement highlighted how the late actor used his talents to shape culture and mentor younger generations.
