Nigerian troops have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin two members of his syndicate, an ammunition courier and a suspected logistics supplier in separate operations across Kaduna State.
The suspects were arrested by troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, during clearance and intelligence-led operations in Kubau, Igabi and Birnin Gwari Local Government Areas of Kaduna state.
The suspects were arrested on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, said in a statement on Thursday.
He added that the suspected terrorist kingpin and two other members of his syndicate were nabbed at their hideout during a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, in Kubau LGA of Kaduna State in the early hours of Wednesday.
Danja said the suspects were being held in military custody for further investigation.
The spokesperson said in another operation on the same day, troops acting on credible intelligence arrested a 50-year-old woman allegedly serving as an ammunition courier to terrorists in Igabi LGA.
He added that the suspect was found with 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag.
Danja said preliminary investigation showed that the woman had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly collected the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
He added that the suspect and the recovered ammunition were subsequently taken into military custody for further investigation.
Danja added that later on Wednesday, troops of Sector 1, working with a community vigilante group, also arrested a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari LGA.
He said four communication devices suspected to have been used by terrorists were recovered from the suspect during interrogation and a search of his person.
The spokesperson said the suspect and the recovered devices have been taken into military custody for further investigation.
Danja said the operations demonstrated its commitment to disrupting terrorist networks, restricting the freedom of action of criminal elements and preventing the movement of arms, ammunition and other logistics across its Joint Operations Area.
It also commended members of the public for their continued support and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
